NCEI and its partners have been hosting discussions with public, private and academic energy leaders over the past several years, as parts of its engagement program, to showcase an improved understanding of uses and applications of climate and environmental data and information. This presentation will highlight: 1) NCEI’s engagement with the energy sector, 2) a summary andof overview of a few examples of how climate information is being used in risk management decisions, uses of climate information with select stakeholders and 4) justification of customer engagement and requirements as a critical component in maximizing return on investment for NCEI’s informing the science agenda.
