In-situ Photogrammetric Analysis of the June 11, 2004 Tornado near Storm Lake, Iowa

Timothy M. Samaras, Applied Research Associates, Inc., Littleton, CO; and C. Young

On June 11, 2004 a tornado formed in the early afternoon near Storm lake, Iowa. A research team deployed a special probe that contains several cameras directly in the path of this tornado. The tornado edge passed directly overhead, thus providing the first-ever visual look of the lowest levels of tornado cores.

The analysis and data will be presented.
