Statistical characteristics of storm tracks in North Dakota
Victoria Le, Department of Geography, University of Western Ontario, London, ON , Canada; and J. Braun and C. Miller
Data obtained from three North Dakota radar stations contains characteristics of individual storm cells including latitude, longitude, base height, top height and duration. Using a converged data sharpening approach, we have clustered the storm cells with the goal of identifying larger storm systems which we track through time and space. This analysis allows us to describe storm system properties, such as speed, direction and intensity.
