The Goshen County, Wyoming, supercell of 5 June 2009 intercepted by VORTEX2: Pretornadic phase

We present an analysis of the pretornadic period (2130-2150 UTC) of the Goshen County, Nebraska, supercell of 5 June 2009 intercepted by the Second Verification of the Origins of Rotation in Tornadoes Experiment (VORTEX2). We present an overview of the storm environment, the storm-scale radar perspective from WSR-88D, single- and dual-Doppler observations from the Doppler On Wheels (DOW) radars, and in situ surface thermodynamic observations obtained by the NSSL-PSU mobile mesonet.
