International Ocean Database Management System for the China Seas and Adjacent Ocean (IODBMS)

International Ocean Database Management System for the China Seas and Adjacent Ocean (IODBMS) collects and reprocesses international ocean data sets from the various sources in the world oceanographic communities with processing standard suitable for the data in China seas and adjacent oceanic areas. The quality controlling methods were developed and applied to prevent the repeated, wrong or man-made data from entering the system. Practical functions such as Statistical calculation, browsing search, drawing paint and problem identification and revision, and etc, were developed with advanced database technology. 12 professional sub-systems were designed for various research requirements, which have been constructed or will be completed by 2006. The system will be endlessly improved, shared and service the relative scientific communities.
