Changing Technology—How We Present the Weather
Tad McGuire, WSI, Billerica, MA
The problem with today's weathercasts is that the average viewer is often confused by all the scientific terms and imagery. Each advance in weather technology has resulted in new opportunities for confusion. And the ever-expanding graphics and information explosion hasn't made forecasts any easier for viewers to understand. WSI will explore the evolution of television weather graphics -- from complicated weather maps, symbols and terminology to the newest wave of viewer-friendly, easy-to-interpret forecast visualizations.
