DTN/Kavouras Weather Services will introduce and demonstrate a new and innovative method to provide on-air weather graphics and video clips directly to a TV station web site. An enhanced version of the Metwork Fileserver provides automated reuse of on-air weather content and generation of custom weather content, from a variety of sources, allowing a TV station to retain and extend local branding on their web site.

The enhanced Metwork Fileserver provides enhanced graphics services for use on the Internet, on Intranets, and in publishing enterprises. The enhanced Metwork Fileserver provides easy to use tools that support automated conversion of on-air content into a variety of Internet and web-compatible graphic and video formats. User-customizable product generation, re-sizing, reformatting and ftp delivery services to an existing web server, are provided. Full support of video clip animations is provided. Furthermore, the recognition, conversion, file management, and delivery of graphic content originating from external sources (i.e. web cam, local radar, paint box) are also supported.

The combination of the 2-D graphics services of the enhanced Metwork Fileserver, local street level radar graphics from the StormPro system, along with the premium 3-D graphics generation capabilities of the TritonRT system, allow DTN/Kavouras to provide the broadcast community with a comprehensive web solution. The end result is the ability to easily retain the same “look and feel” of your on-air weather content on your web site – with still graphics and movie clips.
