Analysis of cloud systems by means of Q-vector fields and satellite images

Dariusz Chaadyniak, Military University of Technology, Warsaw, Poland

This paper describes main features of the analysis of satellite images and numerical data to forecasting the frontogenesis and frontolysis fields. There was made an analysis of synoptical situation concerning the process of cyclones rising, evolution and development and rising and development of atmosferic fronts, which occur over Europe and the Atlantic Ocean. The realisation of described problem consisted of accumulation of information about geopotential, temperature and wind fields included in GRID servises, satellite images received in infrared chanels, and synoptical materials in the form of pressure topography maps from levels 500 and 700 hPa.
