32nd Conference on Broadcast Meteorology

The significant partly sunny day that produced amazing heat indicies

Paul S. Joseph, WTMJ-TV, Milwaukee, WI

The broadcast meteorologist faces many problems in communicating weather forecasts to the general public. Not only do we broadcast to an audience that in general has a poor scientific background, but we often use terminology that not only confuses our audience, but also decreases the effectiveness of our forecasts. This presentation will focus on three particularly confusing but often used terms that we frequently use in our weathercasts.wrf recording  Recorded presentation
