Greg Forbes, The Weather Channel, Atlanta, GA
This presentation discusses some of the applications and limitations of Doppler radar data in warning for the possibility of tornadoes and accompanying severe weather phenomena. It includes a discussion of the types of tornado-producing thunderstorms, their evolution, and their radar signatures. It also briefly mentions factors that can reduce or increase the likelihood of a radar signature being associated with a tornado.
