A Brief Introduction of B08FDP for Beijing 2008 Olympics

The 29th Olympic Games will be held in Beijing, 2008. Because it's still in the rainy season (August, 2008) and weather is one of the key issues behind the success of the Games. Therefore, a WWRP/FDP project named as B08FDP which sponsored by WMO and CMA has been conducted from 2005. Most of the advanced nowcasting systems, about eight participants, from different countries took part in the project. Progress of B08FDP and it's contribution to a successful weather service for Beijing Olympics are introduced and some technical issues are discussed.
