P6.22 Dual-Doppler windfields and in situ thermodynamic fields in and near tornadoes obtained during VORTEX2

Several X- band radars and 14 mobile mesonets and 14 tornado pods were deployed in tornadic storms during VORTEX2. Dual-Doppler windfields in these storms will be combined with surface thermodynamic fields from a fleet of instrumented vehicles with the goal of resolving structures associated with tornadogenesis and tornado maintenance. Preliminary results from analyses of data collected during the 2009 field phase of VORTEX2 will be presented.
