Localization of Television Weathercasts ----- MP3 audio file

Michael Smith, WeatherData Services, Inc., Wichita, KS

“Local” is a key feature differentiating a television weathercast from other types of weather information. What are the sources of quality, localized weather information that can be used to truly localize a weathercast? How can those sources be most effectively utilized and displayed?

This paper will examine six sources of hyper-local information with a goal of optimizing the weathercast and building viewer loyalty.
