186 Use of the DOW Mobile Radars for University Education

The DOW NSF facility is designed to be easily and productively integrated into meteorological education programs. The DOWs can be requested for NSF-supported educational use by university faculty through a simplified and expedited request process. The DOWs have participated in several recent programs including DROPS (Purdue 2012), UNDEO (U of Nebraska, Lincoln 2013), GEO-WINDS-HWS (Hobart William Smith 2013), SNOWD-UNDER (U of North Dakota 2011), PRESSES (U of Utah 2012), DOWNEWS (Lyndon State College 2012), UIDOW (U of Illinois 2012) and are scheduled to participate in HERO (U of Hawaii 2013), DREAMS (SUNY Stonybrook 2013), SOLPEX (U of Utah), SCHUSS (U of Utah 2012), CM3 (U of Mississippi 2012), DOLE (SUNY Oswego 2012) NAPEP (Saint Cloud State U 2010) and WIUDOW (U of Western Illinois 2013).
