Tornado in Murfreesboro, TN
Davis Nolan, WKRN TV, Nashville, TN
For the 3rd time in 4 years, killer tornadoes devastated parts of Middle Tennessee near Nashville. On April 10th, 2009 (Good Friday) at least 8 tornadoes were confirmed, including an EF-4 that killed two people in Murfreesboro, TN, a highly populated (100,000 plus) suburb 25 miles southeast of Nashville.
I will present our stormtracking of the event including catching the EF-4 live on a traffic cam as it crossed I-24 into Murfreesboro.
I will include a brief synoptic explanation, as well as stats from SPC that show that Tennessee has had the greatest number of fatalities in the nation since1999, and why.
