Hurricane Ike storm surge study

The most destructive and deadly part of a hurricane is the storm surge. In September 2008, Hurricane Ike pushed a 14-20' surge across the coast of southeast Texas. Entire communities were washed. More than 30 people died and many are missing.

This presentation will focus on the damage caused by the storm surge, how the threat was communicated to TV viewers before the storm and the lessons learned from Hurricane Ike.
