Pacific Northwest Ballroom (DoubleTree by Hilton Portland)
J. Kelly Beatty, Sky & Telescope Magazine, Cambridge, MA

Heavenly highlights are some of the easiest and most successful "extras" you can add to a weathercast. Viewers' feedback is always positive any time they can easily find a planet, meteor shower, or bright satellite that you've told them about. This annual review will showcase the many interesting things coming this year to the evening skies near you. It will also describe 2009's International Year of Astronomy and some of the IYA events planned in the months ahead.
