More than just a monsoon nuisance, haboobs are deadly dust storms that cause massive pile-ups on our Arizona roadways every year. With very little warning, these storms can pop-up in a matter of minutes as powerful outflow winds from collapsing thunderstorms kick-up the unlimited supply of dust from our desert floor. We'll discuss the specifics on these bad boys and how climate change may affect their strength and frequency in the future. Plus, details on the new projects underway to help predict them, track them and keep people safe when they come towering in.
