The Role of IWT's in The Warning Process

This presentation will provide the audience with an understanding of IWTs as a mechanism for strengthening the warning process. By convening, nurturing, and critically reflecting on the IWT, participants can better identify gaps in the information chain that comprises the warning process. IWTs offer opportunities to clarify the needs of partners and their constituencies, build understanding both among the members as well as of the warning content and process, and potentially present more effective mechanisms for communicating through a network. The authors have a range of experience with IWTs and are called upon to facilitate the initiation of IWTs frequently.
