BY THE TIME OF THE AMS BROADCAST CONFERENCE IN JUNE, I ALONG WITH A PHOTOGRAPHER, WILL HAVE VENTURED TO BOULDER, COLORADO AND POINT BARROW, ALASKA. THE PURPOSE OF THIS TRIP IS TWOFOLD. FIRST, TO SIMPLY SET FOOT IN A TRULY ARCTIC ENVIRONMENT, AND I PROMISE TO SHOW PICTURES! SECOND, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, TO SEEK OUT INFORMATION FROM BOTH RESEARCHERS AND LONG TIME RESIDENTS OF THE AREA TO COMPARE AND CONTRAST THEIR THOUGHTS ON CLIMATE CHANGE. MY HYPOTHESIS ADMITTEDLY IS THAT MAN IS HAVING AN INFLUENCE ON THE CLIMATE. IN ORDER TO BE TRUE TO THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD, I WILL DO ALL IN MY POWER TO DISPROVE MY HYPOTHESIS. FINALLY, A WORD ABOUT THE DIVIDE IN THIS COUNTRY OVER THIS ISSUE, AND WHAT MAY BE DRIVING THAT SPLIT.
