Social media has enabled many to become self-publishers of all kinds of content, including weather. Amateur and non-traditional weather forecasters have multiplied online, and many generate likes, comments, and other engagement levels well beyond more established media. This phenomenon is examined, and a content analysis of successful weather-based social media accounts is presented.
