The CIMSS Satellite Blog is a long-term archival of interesting weather stories. These have been (and are) developed to serve as a repository of potential training materials for the National Weather Service. In addition, there are blog posts when interesting events occur: for example, the explosion in Tianjin, China, or the eruption of Eyjafjallajökull. This information is also written up via wordpress for presentation (and archive) online, but it is also tweeted. Tweets for individual images (that aren't quite a story) also occur. This talk will describe the Blog as a resource for imagery; most blog posts include links back to where data are easily obtainable. That talk will include descriptions of some of the most viral posts in the past year with some discussion of why they went viral.
