Phoenix North (DoubleTree by Hilton Austin Hotel)
Host: 44th Conference on Broadcast Meteorology
Moderator:
Alex Garcia, KABB-TV, San Antonio, TX

With the recent success of the Paris Climate Conference in December, there is a renewed effort to convey the science and impacts of climate change to an audience that desires more information. We will organize a 90-minute panel that focuses on innovative methods of communicating the relationship between weather and climate change and brings to light the current state of research in the climate science field. In addition to the moderator, the panel will feature 3-4 individuals drawing from international and domestic backgrounds, who have comprehensive experience in advancing the communication of weather and climate change. Topics to be explored include the recent Paris Climate Conference, climate change communication resources, and recent advances in the science. Discussion will follow, examining the questions and concerns the membership may have when addressing climate science on the air and online.
