Sonoran Sky Ballroom Salon 5 (Arizona Grand Resort & Spa )
Richard N. Berler, KGNS TV, Laredo, TX

A look at a synoptic scale event during my boyhood that involved remarkable January warmth in my Connecticut location, tornadoes in Missouri north into Wisconsin, and a snowstorm in the Midwest including a devastating blow to Chicago. I will talk on personal experiences as a 7th grader fascinated by the Weathermap and the experience of the exceptional January warmth, will present weathermaps and temperatures that documented the event, and will present some of the newspaper coverage given to the event as well as NWS write ups looking back on this weather system.
