As Solar Cycle 25 nears solar maximum, Space Weather continues to garner National attention. Unlike terrestrial weather, Space Weather and its impacts aren’t as visible in our everyday lives. With that said, many industries have begun to realize that Space Weather does pose a threat to their operations. The aviation community faces navigation, communication, and radiation vulnerabilities to certain Space Weather phenomena. The satellite industry saw firsthand how Space Weather can impact them when Starlink lost 38 satellites due to a Geomagnetic Storm in February 2022. And last Solar Cycle, 24, Emergency Managers witnessed firsthand how Space Weather can impact operations during relief and rescue efforts. Since then, FEMA has even gone as far to release a Space Weather training. As technology develops and our society modernizes, the stakeholders impacted by Space Weather continue to grow. That’s why public and user engagement is crucial for Space Weather as Solar Cycle 25 reaches peak activity.
