Broadcast meteorologists often deliver beach safety and rip current messaging as part of their “station scientist” role. This webinar will bring together beach safety experts and participants in the first ever AMS beach safety event, held during the 51st Conference on Broadcast Meteorology. TV meteorologists and others who registered will experience what it is like to attempt a water rescue, feel the currents pull at them, and learn to “walk the walk” while on the beach. Join us as we explore their recent training and how it can impact the conversation between science communicators and their audience.
