ABSTRACT

Visualization of the weather is effective for helping everyone to expect what the weather for the day is like. In this poster, we present a way to interest other people interested in weather as well as give meteorologist a online view of past weather events. We provide the user the option to determine variables to view and allow them to see how weather changes over time. An example we showed in this poster is the selection of graphs. With base station graphs it gives an accurate temperature for the location of the base station. Climatology graph are based upon areas of a state that usually share the same weather. It provides a smooth graph for the region it covers.

For the calculation of the data, we plan on using OpenMP, a multiple thread API, to calculate the data in realtime and produce a KML file that will be visible on Google Earth as well as the Google Earth API.
