New-type Crystal Temperature Sensor For Environment Monitor

He Jin, Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China; and Y. Tongyan, S. Peng, and C. Juan

The new cutting type crystal temperature sensor has the high accuracy and sensitivity and excellent long-term stability, which adopts the width flexural mode. Through testing, its high resolving power can reach 10-3 ~10-5 0C; and long-term stability can reach 0.001~0.01 0C within one year even 0.002~0.02 0C within 12 years. Moreover the oscillate frequency and heat-sensitive characteristic only decided by itself. So the new type sensor overcomes the disadvantages: the temperature and time excursion, and the aging of analog line, which the traditional sensors (such as the platinum resistance) bring. The most advantage is the output of the new crystal sensor is frequency signal, which improve the anti-interference ability (the interfering signal can be up to 25db). The other aspect of the sensor was the furnishing with the Control Area Network (CAN) and interface; we have structured and formed a far transmitting network conveniently, which solved the high accuracy problem of the test region. So the sensor has extensive application in the meteorological and sea-water temperature testing field. Especially within the range of 10~30 0C, the accuracy of the sensor can reach 10-4 0C to establish the foundation for preventing the ocean pollution and improving the level of environmental monitor. Keywords: Crystal temperature sensor; CAN; Environment monitor
