A Review of THORPEX related Research at NCEP

THORPEX is an international research program aimed at improving the utility of 1-15 day weather forecasts. This presentation will give an overview of NOAA's THORPEX goals and program objectives. In addition, the presentation will provide a description of related recent research developments and future plans at NCEP. Issues related to the implementation of new techniques in the future will also be discussed. .
