The Live Access Server (LAS) is emerging as one of a handful of packages being widely adopted in the climate data community to provide Internet access to data visualization and subsetting. Much of the success of LAS results from its emphasis on configurability -- the ability to present many different types of data through a single user interface. Customizable user interfaces allow for additional parameters to be specified when needed. Recent development of LAS has focused on providing data analysis and handling ungridded, in-situ data stored in relational databases.

Outside developers, showing an increased interest in LAS, have created tools that make it easier to set up LAS as the web portal to datasets served by OPeNDAP or GDS servers. This talk will review the current status of LAS and describe our future development plans.
