Hurricane Katrina-The drowning & rebirth of FOX 8

Bob Breck, WVUE-TV, New Orleans, LA

The author will present graphic photos showing what happened to his TV station when the levees failed. Four feet of water sat inside FOX 8 for 3 weeks. The station was off-air for 10 days. A power point presentation will detail how Ch. 8 resumed broadcasting from Mobile, AL. for 3 months and what it was like returning to a gutted building in December. It's taken over a year, but FOX 8 is rebuilt with newer and better equipment and a survivor's attitude. This was America's greatest man-made disaster. wrf recording  Recorded presentation
