The VIIRS Fire Mask

The VIIRS Fire products, sub-pixel temperature and area of the fire, first require the detection of fire pixels. The VIIRS Fire Mask precursor to the fire products is based on the MODIS Version 4 heritage algorithm and is described in detail in this presentation. Results of various test cases are also presented.
