Formulation of Normal Flux in the Quasi-3D Network

As the first step in developing a quasi-3D multi-scale modeling framework, we have formulated an algorithm that statistically estimates advection in the direction normal to a grid point axis. The results of preliminary tests that evaluate the algorithm against a 3D cloud-resolving simulation are presented.
