Expanding technology is providing more opportunities for broadcasters to deliver weather information to the public. The placement of a weathercast within a news program is changing to accommodate alternate delivery methods. Broadcast meteorologists now are responsible for preparing forecasts that are sent via e-mail, text messaging and video streams. I will present some of the challenges, pitfalls and successes of this expanding role of the broadcast meteorologist.
