Introduction to the Special Session on Stratospheric Ozone and Tropospheric Weather

John Hornstein, NRL, Washington, DC

Weather phenomena in the upper troposphere leave imprints on the ozone distribution observed from space. These imprints have scientific value, and may also be useful for assimilating atmospheric data and for weather forecasting. The Special Session on Stratospheric Ozone and Tropospheric Weather will discuss observations of the imprints on the ozone data and their current and potentials uses. The present talk will summarize the history of these topics, and the principal themes and open questions that have emerged in the submissions to this special session.wrf recording  Recorded presentation
