OMI and CERES derived aerosol radiative forcings in North Africa

OMI UV aerosol index (AI) relatively well represents dust loadings over land compared to other satellite measurements at longer wavelengths. We present shortwave and longwave radiative effects due to heavy aerosol loadings over the Saharan desert. The OMI UV AI and aerosol optical thickness values will also be evaluated using coincidence aerosol optical thickness measurements from MISR and AERONET.
