A numerical model for tsunami caused by the earthquake displacements on the ocean bottom

Cheng Ting, Southeast College, Houston, TX

A finite element model is made to simulate the ocean water that is disturbed by the the earthquake at the ocean bottom.

The boundary conditions of the model are assumed to be the earthquake displacements which can be similar to on-the-land earthquake date. The result of the model will simulate the ocean surface disturbance which generates tsunami.
