Optical Properties of Aerosols and Clouds as seen from the JPL Galileo probe in 1990
Exhibit Hall B (Ernest N. Morial Convention Center)
Jet Propulsion Laboratory images taken by the Galileo probe during a flyby of earth in 1990, provide a real case data set of aerosols, clouds and land surface observations at a distance of the order of 2 million kilometers.
Clouds optical parameters measured from a small set of images are used to estimate the quality of environmental data products that could be measured from remote sensing instruments operating at L1 and Artificial Lagrange Orbits.
