IDPS Software and Sustainment Philosophy
Exhibit Hall B (Ernest N. Morial Convention Center)
John Van de Wouw, Northrop Grumman Space Technology (NGST), Redondo Beach, CA
The NPOESS Program is responsible for developing algorithms for producing environmental data records (EDRs) for both NPOESS high rate data (HRD) and low rate data (LRD) direct broadcasts. This work will be leveraged from work being performed on the NPOESS Preparatory Project (NPP) which also has a HRD broadcast, however development of these algorithms are currently under development by the NPOESS Integrated Program Office (IPO) in conjunction with NASA Direct Readout Lab and the University of Wisconsin. All software for the production of EDRs developed by the NPOESS Ground Segment beginning with NPP will be provided to the NOAA Comprehensive Large Array Stewardship System (CLASS) along with updates to processing coefficients, look-up tables, dynamic ancillary data, and documentation. This poster will present the capabilities of the data processing software and sustainment philosophy.
