Stakeholder Involvement in Space Weather Modeling Integration
Exhibit Hall B (Ernest N. Morial Convention Center)
Kevin Starr, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, Colorado Springs, CO; and S. McNew
Efforts on the Space Weather Analysis and Forecast System (SWAFS) require coordination among multiple military agencies, academia, associated contractors, and various laboratories. This coordination is critical to the development, integration, test, turnover, and day-to-day operations such that the user community receives relevant, timely, and accurate space weather products.

Northrop Grumman continues to focus on the coordination with the science community, model and technology providers, space weather product users, and other stakeholders to achieve success in these integration endeavours. The timing and schedule to ensure that the aspects of data provision, model validation, and the compatibility of system components requires continuous technical interchanges between all contributors. In addition, the criticality of standards adherence, measures of software robustness, documentation of system dependencies, sizing, and system timing factors are also considered.
