An intense bow echo and its associated severe wind events which occured August 20, 2007 in locations in Northeastern Nebraska and Northwestern Iowa is analyzed in refernce to further research performed by Dr. Jay Martinelli of Creighton University. Found most interesting is the occurence of strong winds in regions not characteristic of bow echoes, leading to undocumented severe wind reports. A hypothesis on the reasons behind this phenomena is briefly discussed.
