Sarah Schoedinger, NOAA, Washington, DC ; and C. McDougall
Since 2005 NOAA has funded 31 projects in informal and formal K-12 education with approximately $12.4 million in Environmental Literacy Grants. This grant program encompasses support for teacher professional development, development of instructional materials and exhibits, experiential learning for youth and adults, and installations and programming related to spherical display systems such as Science on a Sphere. More recently, NOAA has expanded the regionally focused Bay-Watershed Education and Training program to new regions in the United States. This session will provide an overview of these grant programs, including information on funded projects as well as details on current and future funding opportunities.
