Representation of air-sea turbulent fluxes from varying satellite methodologies

Carol Anne Clayson, Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL

An analysis of multiple climatologies of air-sea turbulent fluxes with in situ research vessels, buoys, and numerical weather prediction models will be described. The uncertainties in each of the data sets will be explored, along with the implications for determination of the mean global water balance. The variability of each of the data sets, and their ability to portray extremes in the climate system, will be discussed.
