Big Sky Ballroom (Red Lion Inn Kalispell)
The airspace over northwest Florida is a limited resource that is affected by the operational concerns of both the military and forestry community. The military needs smoke free, good visibility conditions to conduct flight training operations. The forestry community needs to reduce hazardous fuel accumulations and conduct ecological restoration using prescribed fire which produces smoke. Both sides understand the importance of the others' needs and are looking for a tool that will help them manage their activity while being sensitive to the needs of the other group. Initial tool development will be presented.
