Optimal display of large weather data on web

PAPER WITHDRAWN

Disseminating forecasted weather information particularly on the web has been challenging as the amount of data generated from the model output is quite large. Weather model has been configured for the large domain of Middle East extending from 26°E to 62°E and from 9°N to 45°N with a very high resolution of about 0.03° for a five day forecasting cycle resulting in millions of grid points in the model domain. The model generates over half a dozen weather parameters on each grid point thus resulting in millions of datasets. In order to display this huge data in an easy and quick way on the web in a clickable format, a unique approach has been adopted by integrating live map with an optimized backend database. Weather data can be interrogated at any place on the map by clicking on the map. The optimized database at the end back end and the advanced methodology used on the client side results in the fetching the required data from the huge database quickly and efficiently.
