The interaction of Groundwater–surface water in Hadong area, Vietnam under scenario of climate change to 2030 using a high-resolution transient groundwater model

The topography, hydrogeology, and climate data, provide a variety of spatial analysis for applications in three-dimensional groundwater modelling. And are studies herein using a three-dimensional finite-difference model, which is based on the VISUAL MODFLOW and utilizes the local topography, hydrogeology, and climate data. This model simulates the groundwater movement in the granular aquifers in Hadong area, which consist of a Holocene aquifer (qh) and a Pleistocene aquifer (qp). Six-year groundwater level data of 26 monitoring wells of qp aquifer and 5 wells of qh aquifer, the hydraulic conductivity distributions and storage coefficients estimated using available techniques are incorporated into the model. The calibration of the Hadong model are made assuming both steady-state and transient conditions. The model simulated the groundwater dynamics in the aquifer with a good fit to the observed data for steady-state and transient conditions. The report will give an introduction of Hadong area, results of groundwater model simulation. Based on the climate scenario to 2030 the predict model was developed for interactive of the surface water with the aquifers to year 2030, which used for groundwater resource management in this area. The results of this model also focused in this report.
