User interaction and extraction of data location and information from KML/COLLADA content in Virtual Globe visualizations is demonstrated using a light client for Google Earth. The WxAzygyTM Transparent Interface for Google Earth enhances utilization of massive datasets available from public and private sources in the KML/COLLADA (KMZ) formats and supports conversion of common formats such as netCDF into KML/COLLADA for Virtual Globe visualizations. Features of the WxAzygyTM Transparent Interface include coupling to external applications for creation and display of derived content, and the ability to “point and click” to examine and manipulate COLLADA models within the Virtual Globe environment. The WxAzygyTM Transparent Interface is demonstrated on Windows and the Mac OS.
