During April and May 2009 emissions measurements of formaldehyde and alkenes were conducted in the Houston Galveston area using mobile DOAS and the SOF method.

The measurements were carried out within the FLAIR campaign and the main focus was on quantifying the emission downwind of the Texas City refinerires and the Mount Belvieu sites, although also the Houston Ship Channel (HSC) was surveyed. Meteorological measurements were conducted using GPS sondes, SODAR and wind measurements from a mast.

Distinct emission plumes of alkenes and formaldehyde were detected and this will be presented here.
