In this presentation, we will report our progress on the investigation of WISDOM balloon data impact on hurricane track forecast. A list of possible WISDOM launch sites is constructed based on some existing observation stations and some potential sites for the future WISDOM. Using ECMWF 2005-2006 nature run, a 13-month long free forecast, a set of WISDOM balloon data has been generated. A reverse assimilation is also performed to investigate and may help WISDOM program on designing future WISDOM launch plan. Numerical results will be reported on the data impact on tropical cyclone track forecast.
