Despite a life and career that ended much too soon, Dr. Daewon Byun made significant and long-lasting contributions to the air quality modeling field. In addition to his own scientific and technical achievements, he was an inspiration to his colleagues and students with a grand vision of where the field was headed, and of an internationally coordinated community of practice in air quality modeling. His passing is a professional and personal loss to all who knew and worked with him.
